25mm PVC Oil Suction Hose Blue

PSHB025 is the 25 mm bore blue oil suction hose, the size that goes on drum pumps, workshop oil extractors and small transfer pumps. The rigid PVC helix moulded into the wall is what keeps the bore round while the pump pulls on it, which a plain delivery hose will not do. The compound carries a high nitrile content for improved resistance to mineral oils and animal fats, and the blue cover keeps oil lines visually separate from water and food hose on the same site. Outside diameter 31.9 mm, working pressure 0.9 MPa (130 psi) at 20°C.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fit 25 mm tails or camlocks over the helix and clamp; see camlock fittings
• Rated for mineral oils and some fuels, not all of them: check the fluid against a PVC and nitrile compatibility chart first
• For fuel and higher duty lines use rubber petrol and oil suction hose

Why does suction hose need a helix?

Because a pump inlet is under vacuum, not pressure. Without the rigid helix the wall folds inward and the pump loses prime. That is also why a delivery hose of the same bore cannot be swapped onto the inlet.
