About Spiral Guard HDPE
Spiral guard is the cheapest insurance on a hydraulic hose. The HDPE coil winds over the hose and takes the rubbing where the hose crosses steelwork, a boom or another hose, so the cover survives instead of wearing through to the reinforcement. Sizes of spiral guard we stock
- 9-12 mm and 12-17 mm: small bore hydraulic, pilot and service lines.
- 16-22 mm and 22-28 mm: the common sizes on tractors, loaders and mobile plant.
- 27-33 mm and 32-42 mm: large bore hose and multi-hose bundles.
- Lengths: 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 10 m and 15 m, or a 20 m box.
Choosing the right spiral guard
- Size: measure the hose outside diameter, or the width of the bundle if you are wrapping more than one hose.
- Fit: a range that is too large will slide along the hose, and one that is too tight is hard to wind on and can pinch.
- Coverage: wrap the wear points and leave the couplings clear so hoses can still be changed out.
- Use: it also bundles and protects cable and wiring looms on plant and trailers.
