About Silicone Hoses
Silicone hose is the answer where a rubber hose keeps failing on heat. It stays flexible and holds its shape through repeated heat cycles, which is why workshops fit it to radiator, heater and intercooler plumbing on hard-worked engines. The blue silicone range at Hose Suppliers Australia is rated to 150°C and dispatched from our Brisbane warehouse.
Types of silicone hose we stock
- Blue silicone heater hose, 150°C: straight hose for heater circuits, coolant bypass lines and small-bore cooling runs.
- Blue silicone radiator and intercooler hose, 150°C: heavier wall hose for radiator connections, turbo plumbing and charge air piping.
- Elbows, reducers and clamp kits: 45° and 90° elbows, reducers for joining pipes of different diameters, and clamp kits to finish the install. Ask us for the piece you need.
Choosing the right silicone hose
- Size: order on inside diameter and measure the pipe spigot, not the old hose, which will have stretched.
- Wall: heater hose suits low pressure coolant lines; radiator and intercooler hose has the heavier wall for boost and main cooling connections.
- Fluid: coolant, water and air only. Silicone is not a fuel or oil hose.
- Clamps: use T-bolt or non-perforated clamps so the band cannot cut the hose. Our hose clamps suit the softer heater sizes.
