Please note when ordering our Flexible Ducting Hose:
Flexible Ducting hose is always measured (and cut) the way it is manufactured, in its EXTENDED position, both for length and Inside Diameter.
From it’s original (extended) length at manufacturing, it is then compressed for packaging.
Compressing the hose achieves 2 things;
• Reduces the space / volume of the product for shipping and warehousing.
• Hose becomes less vulnerable to damage in transit. Spiral reinforcing is squashed together, shielding the thinner flexible material which has folded underneath it.
The ID should always be measured when the hose is extended. When compressed, the corrugations usually fold up inside the hose. So the ID is reduced in the compressed state.
After being compressed for a period of time, the hose does not readily return to it’s original ‘true’ length. So when removed from packaging in a compressed state, it usually needs to be stretched to overcome the “memory” from being compressed.
Different Ducting constructions allow for different degrees of compression.
