About Nylon Fittings
Nylon fittings are the practical choice for water, irrigation and chemical lines: light, corrosion-free and far cheaper than brass or stainless for low pressure work. Hose Suppliers Australia carries a deep nylon range, from 4 mm barbed tails through to 2" BSP pipe fittings and IBC adaptors, stocked in our Brisbane warehouse.
Types of nylon fittings we stock
- Hose tails: nylon hose tail x male BSP, straight and elbow, with 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm tails onto 1/8" and 1/4" MBSP.
- Joiners, tees and elbows: barbed hose joiners, tees and elbows from 4 mm (1/8") to 16 mm (5/8"), plus reducing joiners from 3/16" x 1/8" up to 3/8" x 1/4".
- BSP pipe fittings: nipples and reducing nipples, sockets and reducing sockets, reducing bushes, plugs, caps, male and female elbows and female tees from 1/2" to 2".
- Nut and tail: nylon nut and hose tail x female BSP, 1/2" hose through to 1 1/2".
- Tank and IBC: nylon BSP tank fittings from 1/2" to 2", and IBC (bulky bin) adaptors to 2" BSP or a 2" male camlock.
Choosing the right nylon fitting
- Size: barbed tails follow the hose bore, threaded fittings follow the BSP size. A reducing bush or nipple bridges the gap.
- Thread: all threaded fittings here are BSP, male or female. Confirm which one your pump, tank or valve takes.
- Sealing: wrap male threads with tape or use a thread sealant from our sealants and tapes range.
- Clamping: every barbed tail needs a hose clamp; nylon barbs will not hold pressure on a push fit.
- Duty: for hot water, higher pressure or aggressive chemicals, step up to brass or stainless steel fittings.
