Choosing the right fire fighting nozzle
- Size: match the nozzle to the hose bore and pump outlet, because a nozzle smaller than the line throttles the flow.
- Flow and pressure: a larger bore moves more water at the same pump pressure, but throw drops away if the pump cannot supply it.
- Connection: check whether the line ends in a camlock, a threaded connection or a hose tail before ordering.
- Hose: pair the nozzle with a delivery hose rated for the pump, and a suction line that will not collapse on the inlet.
