63mm Yellow Tail Abrasive Suction Hose

63 mm is the in-between size hire fleets and contractors keep for pumps that fall between a 50 mm and a 76 mm inlet, and PSHYT063 covers it without adapting. Outside diameter is 79.6 mm and the minimum bend radius steps out to 380 mm, which is worth checking against the space around the pump. The construction is a smooth black high nitrile PVC bore with a raised yellow rigid PVC helix, rated 0.4 MPa (58 psi) at 20°C and 600 mm Hg of vacuum.

Compatibility and fitting

Why does an abrasive hose need a thicker wall?

Because the wear is on the inside. Sand and slurry scour the bore as they pass, and the high nitrile compound plus the extra wall are what buy service life. A standard water suction hose in the same bore wears through from the inside first.
