Description
An IBC adaptor converts the coarse thread on a 1000 litre bulky bin outlet into something you can actually plumb to: a BSP thread, a camlock, or a hose tail. Without one, an IBC is a container with a tap on it; with one, it is part of a transfer system.

Compatibility and fitting
- Check the outlet thread on your bin, as IBC cage outlets are not all the same
- Pair with a camlock for quick connect transfer
- Confirm chemical compatibility for what the bin is carrying before fitting
- Seal threads with a thread sealing paste or thread tape
- Nylon threads strip more easily than brass: tighten by hand and finish with a light nip, never a long lever
- Check the pressure band for the size you are buying, as it steps down above 50 mm
Are all IBC outlets the same thread?
No, and that catches people out. Bins from different makers use different coarse threads on the outlet, so check yours against the adaptor before ordering.
Can I use an IBC for drinking water?
The fitting is AS/NZS 4020 rated, but the bin's own history decides that. A bin that has carried chemicals is not made potable by a certified adaptor.
