Nylon Hose Joiner

Two barbs back to back. A hose joiner repairs a hose that has split or been cut, and joins two shorter lengths into the run you actually need. In nylon it costs a fraction of the brass equivalent, which matters on irrigation where joiners get buried and forgotten.

Compatibility and fitting

• Cut back to clean undamaged hose before joining
• Clamp both sides with a hose clamp
• Seal threads with a thread sealing paste or thread tape
• Nylon threads strip more easily than brass: tighten by hand and finish with a light nip, never a long lever
• Check the pressure band for the size you are buying, as it steps down above 50 mm

Will a joiner leak once it is buried?

Not if it is clamped properly. What fails buried is hose that was pushed on cold and split, so warm the hose end before fitting and use two clamps a side.

Equal or reducing?

Equal joins the same bore both sides. If the two hoses differ, use the reducing joiner rather than forcing the larger hose onto a small barb.
