12mm John Guest Pipe Saddle

Part JGPC12W is a white acetal saddle that clips over 12 mm pipe and screws down through a single fixing point. Unsupported tube chafes where it crosses a frame member and drags on the fitting it runs into, so a saddle every so often keeps the run tidy and takes the weight off the joints.

Compatibility and fitting

• Grips on the pipe outside diameter, so any 12 mm tube in the range fits, blue, red or black
• Keep one near each fitting so the joint is not carrying the run
• Set one where the line turns into a BSP adaptor, 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch, so the thread is not carrying the run
• A 15 mm pipe needs the larger saddle in the same range

Will the 12 mm saddle take 15 mm pipe?

No, the saddles are cut to size. JGPC12W is shaped for 12 mm pipe and the 15 mm saddle for 15 mm pipe, so ordering follows the tube diameter rather than the fitting.

Where does a saddle go?

Wherever the pipe would otherwise hang, rub or pull. Frame crossings, cabinet backs and either side of a change of direction are the usual points, and one close to a fitting stops the joint carrying weight it was never meant to.
