About Hot Water Wash Down Hose
A washing machine hose has to handle hot water, which is exactly where a standard garden hose gives up. This hot water hose is rubber wash down hose in 12 mm and 20 mm, cut to length: the hose people buy for a longer washing machine line, a laundry hose, or a wash bay.
Hot water hose sizes we stock
- 12 mm (1/2") hot water wash down hose: the size used for washing machine and laundry tub lines, sinks and light wash down.
- 20 mm (3/4") hot water wash down hose: more flow for wash bays, workshops, kitchens and dairy wash down.
- Cut lengths: 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m and 20 m, so a long washing machine hose is one piece rather than two hoses and a joiner.
Choosing the right hot water hose
- Size: match the hose bore to the fitting on the tap and the machine, 12 mm for laundry work and 20 mm where you want volume.
- Ends: the hose is supplied plain, so add a tap connector or a nut and tail from our brass fittings or nylon fittings.
- Clamping: fit an all-stainless hose clamp at each end, because a hot line moves as it heats and cools.
- Material: rubber holds its shape with heated water where PVC softens, so keep garden hose on cold duty only.
