About Fuel Line
Fuel hose comes in grades, and the wrong grade fails quietly: a permeating line smells, a low-pressure hose splits on an injection feed, an unapproved hose fails a survey. Hose Suppliers Australia stocks automotive, marine and industrial fuel hose from 5 mm (3/16") to 100 mm (4"), cut to length in Brisbane and delivered Australia-wide.
Types of fuel hose we stock
- SAE30R7 automotive fuel hose: 5 mm to 12 mm rubber fuel line for carburettor feed, return and vent lines.
- US Coast Guard approved barrier fuel hose: 6 mm to 16 mm low-permeation marine fuel hose, cut by the metre or supplied on spools.
- US Coast Guard approved fuel filler hose: 20 mm to 50 mm filler and vent hose for boat and tank fills.
- Rubber petrol and oil delivery hose and petrol and oil suction hose: bulk transfer hose up to 100 mm for tanker, depot and refuelling work.
- Marine fuel breathers: stainless steel and chrome breathers in 12 mm, 16 mm and 20 mm, straight or 90 degree.
Choosing the right fuel hose
- Size: measure the pipe or barb the hose slides over rather than the old hose, which will have swollen in service.
- Pressure: a carburettor feed and an injection line are not the same duty, so tell us the system before ordering low-pressure hose.
- Approval: marine work usually calls for a US Coast Guard approved hose, and the barrier grades are the ones built to limit permeation.
- Suction or delivery: a delivery hose collapses on a pump inlet, so use the petrol and oil suction hose wherever the pump pulls.
- Ends: size hose tails, camlocks and clamps to the hose bore, then adapt to the thread on the equipment.
