About Marine Wet Exhaust Hose
Marine exhaust hose is the flexible link in a wet exhaust system, carrying hot gas and cooling water from the manifold or water lift muffler out through the transom. It has to handle heat, vibration and salt water in the same run, which is why a general purpose rubber hose is not a substitute. Marine exhaust hose sizes we stock
- 25 mm to 45 mm: generators, auxiliary engines and small inboards.
- 51 mm to 76 mm: the common sizes on recreational inboards and repowers.
- 90 mm to 125 mm: larger inboards, commercial and charter vessels.
- 150 mm and 200 mm: heavy commercial exhaust runs.
Each size is cut in 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 8 m, 10 m and 12 m lengths.
Choosing the right marine exhaust hose
- Size: work from the bore of the exhaust spigot or the hose you are replacing, and keep the same size the whole run.
- Routing: allow a generous bend radius, support long runs, and keep the hose clear of anything it can chafe on.
- Clamping: two all-stainless hose clamps per joint. Our Our hose clamps cover most sizes.
- Length: order one continuous length where you can, because every join in an exhaust line is another point to check.
- Compatibility: this is a wet exhaust hose, not a fuel, sanitation or bilge hose. Match each service to its own hose.
