About Water Pumps
A 12V water pump is what turns a tank into a plumbed water system, holding pressure at the tap so a shower, sink and galley behave like they do at home. We stock Relaxn diaphragm water pumps in two sizes, both self-priming, both with a built-in bypass, and both running on 12 volts for marine, caravan and off-grid installations. Stock is held in our Brisbane warehouse with Australia-wide delivery.
Water pumps we stock
- Relaxn 11 LPM, 55 psi, four chamber with bypass: the everyday pump for a caravan, camper or small boat running a tap and a shower.
- Relaxn 19 LPM, 60 psi, five chamber with bypass: higher flow and pressure for larger vessels and vans with several outlets running at once.
Choosing the right water pump
- Flow: add up the outlets that may run together. Undersizing shows up as a shower that fades when someone opens a tap.
- Pressure: both pumps cut out in the mid to high 50 psi range, which suits standard tap and shower fittings.
- Bypass: the bypass smooths flow at part-open taps and reduces the rapid cycling that wears a pressure switch out.
- Installation: mount the pump on a solid surface clear of the tank, keep the suction line short, and fit an inline strainer to protect the diaphragm.
- Plumbing: connect with John Guest push-fit fittings or caravan plumbing fittings sized to the pump ports.
