About Valves

Ball valves do most of the isolating and throttling work on any site, and our range covers them in every material trades ask for: brass and chrome-plated mini valves, full port bronze and nickel-plated valves with stainless handles, 316 stainless two-piece valves, PVC, poly and glass fibre reinforced bodies. Around them sit the gate, check, foot, needle, butterfly and strainer options that finish a system. All of it is stocked in our Brisbane warehouse with Australia-wide delivery.

Types of valves we stock

  • Ball valves: brass mini ball valves from 1/8" in female and male/female patterns, nickel-plated full port valves with stainless handles, bronze full port valves, 316 stainless two-piece valves, PVC and glass fibre reinforced valves, and AGA T-handle valves.
  • 3-way ball valves: L port and T port in chrome-plated brass, in bottom entry and side entry, for switching or combining two lines.
  • Gate valves: brass and bronze, for lines that are opened and closed infrequently.
  • Check and foot valves: York spring check valves, brass swing check valves, brass foot valves and poly check valves to stop backflow and hold a pump's prime.
  • Needle valves: brass female/female, for fine flow adjustment on gauges and dosing lines.
  • Butterfly valves: 316 stainless disc, for large-bore lines where a ball valve becomes impractical.
  • Strainers: stainless steel mesh strainers and poly check valve strainers, to keep grit out of pumps and nozzles.

Choosing the right valve

  • Size and thread: valves are ordered by thread size. Confirm whether the ports are female or male and keep the valve the same size as the line.
  • Material: brass and bronze for fresh water and general plumbing, 316 stainless for saltwater, chemicals and wash-down, PVC and poly for cold water and irrigation.
  • Duty: isolation suits a ball or gate valve; throttling suits a needle valve; backflow prevention calls for a check or foot valve.
  • Flow: choose full port where restriction matters, such as pump suction lines.
  • Handle: T-handle and lever styles differ in the space they need. Check the clearance in the pit or locker before ordering.
