20mm Clear Vinyl Tube

20mm clear vinyl tube (part CVT20) is a popular transfer size, big enough to move real volume while still being easy to handle and cut on site. It is often specified for tank work, drainage and machine outlets. The tube is unreinforced virgin PVC with a light blue tint, so the line stays soft, bends easily and lets you see exactly what is moving through it.

• Working pressure 0.4 MPa (58 psi) at 20°C
• Operating temperature -5°C to +60°C
• Clear with a blue tint, so flow and blockages are visible
• Virgin PVC conforming to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in food contact, and EU RoHS compliant
• Good chemical resistance and a moderate level of UV protection
• Supplied cut to length or as a full coil (30 m)

Compatibility and fitting

• Sizing is by inside diameter: 20mm tube fits a 20mm barb or spigot
• Secure with a hose clamp or crimp ferrule sized to the 23.8mm outside diameter
• Warming the end in hot water makes it far easier to push onto a tight barb
• For pressure work choose a reinforced hose from the PVC hose range rather than unreinforced tube

How do I cut it squarely?

A sharp knife or a proper tube cutter, not a hacksaw. A clean square cut seats properly on the barb and stops the clip pulling the end out of shape.
