316 S/S Disc Lugged T/E Butterfly Valve

A lugged butterfly valve with a cast iron body and a 316 stainless steel disc, for isolation and flow control from 50 mm to 300 mm. T/E stands for Tapped Each: every lug is threaded rather than drilled through, so the valve bolts to the flange on each side independently and the pipework downstream can be taken off while the valve stays bolted up. Part numbers run BUTFLY050L to BUTFLY300L.

What does T/E mean on a butterfly valve?

Tapped Each. Each lug on the flange face is threaded instead of being a plain through hole, so the valve can be bolted to the flange on one side without the bolts running the whole way through. That is what lets the downstream pipework come off during maintenance while the valve remains mounted and holding the line.

Lugged or plain disc?

The lugged version has threaded lugs for direct flange installation and lets one side of the line be dismantled during maintenance. The plain 316 disc butterfly valve is the simpler fitting for a run that stays assembled. The lugged range also goes further, to 300 mm against 200 mm.
