38mm PVC Marine/RV Drain Hose

38 mm, stock code MF38, is the bore fitted to larger bilge pump outlets and to cockpit and deck drains that have to shed water quickly. It measures 44.9 mm on the outside. The flexible black PVC wall carries a rigid PVC helix, so the run can turn a corner in a bilge without kinking, and the smooth bore keeps debris moving rather than lodging in a rib. Working pressure is 0.2 MPa (29 psi) at 20°C.

Compatibility and fitting

• Takes a 38 mm hose tail or skin fitting; band clamps must suit the 44.9 mm outside diameter
• A bilge discharge should loop above the waterline before the skin fitting so the sea cannot siphon back
• Pumps and fittings are under bilge pumps and skin fittings

Is this the same as 38 mm suction hose?

No. This is a light wall drain hose rated 29 psi, made to shed water under gravity or off a small pump. A pump inlet that has to lift water needs a heavier suction hose with a full helix rated for vacuum.
