57mm Marine Wet Exhaust Hose

General purpose rubber hose fails on a wet exhaust for three separate reasons: the gas attacks the tube, the engine bay attacks the cover, and the bends flatten a wall with no helix in it. RMWE057 answers all three at 57 mm bore, with a tube specified against exhaust gases, a corrugated cover that resists ozone and oil, and a steel wire helix carried in high-strength synthetic cord.

Compatibility and fitting

• Do not substitute radiator or general purpose hose on this line, whatever the bore matches

• Bores either side of 57 mm are in marine wet exhaust hose

Can I use ordinary rubber hose instead?

Not on a wet exhaust. The tube here is specified for exhaust gas and the cover for ozone and oil, and the hose holds MCG, DNV, LLOYDS and VTT approvals that a general purpose hose does not.

Does the corrugated cover affect flow?

No. The corrugation is on the outside only; the bore is smooth, so the 57 mm inside diameter is a clear 57 mm the whole way.
