5mm Clear Vinyl Tube

5mm clear vinyl tube (part CVT05) is one of the two most requested bores, and the usual choice for small air and fluid lines on machines, benches and dispensing equipment where 3 mm is too fine to flow and 6 mm will not fit the barb. The tube is unreinforced virgin PVC with a light blue tint, so the line stays soft, bends easily and lets you see exactly what is moving through it.

Compatibility and fitting

• Sizing is by inside diameter: 5mm tube fits a 5mm barb or spigot
• Secure with a hose clamp or crimp ferrule sized to the 8mm outside diameter
• Warming the end in hot water makes it far easier to push onto a tight barb
• For pressure work choose a reinforced hose from the PVC hose range rather than unreinforced tube

What fitting does 5 mm tube take?

It pushes over a 5 mm barb and is normally held with a small hose clip or a crimped ferrule. Warming the end in hot water makes it far easier to get over the barb without splitting it.
