6mm Clear Vinyl Tube

6mm clear vinyl tube (part CVT06) is the general purpose small bore, used constantly for air, water and light fluid transfer around workshops, kitchens and farm sheds. It flexes tightly without kinking and the clear wall lets you see flow and any blockage. The tube is unreinforced virgin PVC with a light blue tint, so the line stays soft, bends easily and lets you see exactly what is moving through it.

• Working pressure 0.5 MPa (72 psi) at 20°C
• Operating temperature -5°C to +60°C
• Clear with a blue tint, so flow and blockages are visible
• Virgin PVC conforming to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in food contact, and EU RoHS compliant
• Good chemical resistance and a moderate level of UV protection
• Supplied cut to length or as a full coil (30 m and 100 m)

Compatibility and fitting

• Sizing is by inside diameter: 6mm tube fits a 6mm barb or spigot
• Secure with a hose clamp or crimp ferrule sized to the 9mm outside diameter
• Warming the end in hot water makes it far easier to push onto a tight barb
• For pressure work choose a reinforced hose from the PVC hose range rather than unreinforced tube

Can this tube be used for drinking water?

It conforms to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in food contact, so it suits low pressure food and drink lines within its rating. For a mains pressure drinking water line use a hose certified to AS/NZS 4020 instead.
