8mm Clear Vinyl Tube

8mm clear vinyl tube (part CVT08) is a step up from 6 mm where flow matters more than tight bending, commonly used on pumps, filters and transfer lines that would starve on a smaller bore. The tube is unreinforced virgin PVC with a light blue tint, so the line stays soft, bends easily and lets you see exactly what is moving through it.

• Nominal inside diameter 8mm, outside diameter 11mm
• Working pressure 0.4 MPa (58 psi) at 20°C
• Operating temperature -5°C to +60°C
• Clear with a blue tint, so flow and blockages are visible
• Virgin PVC conforming to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in food contact, and EU RoHS compliant
• Good chemical resistance and a moderate level of UV protection
• Supplied cut to length or as a full coil (30 m and 100 m)

Compatibility and fitting

• Sizing is by inside diameter: 8mm tube fits a 8mm barb or spigot
• Secure with a hose clamp or crimp ferrule sized to the 11mm outside diameter
• Warming the end in hot water makes it far easier to push onto a tight barb
• For pressure work choose a reinforced hose from the PVC hose range rather than unreinforced tube

Does clear tube go brittle outdoors?

It has a moderate level of UV protection, which is enough for intermittent sun but not for a permanent outdoor run. For fixed exposed lines choose a UV stabilised hose rather than clear tube.
