316 Stainless Steel Hose Clamp Perforated Band (Box of 10)

316 stainless is the grade you move to when 304 or 301 will not survive. It holds up in salt water, in chemical exposure and in coastal air, which is why 316 clamps are specified on boats, jetties, processing plants and anywhere a rusted clamp means a failed joint. Supplied in boxes of 10 and made in Australia to SAE J1508.

Compatibility and fitting

• Size on the hose outside diameter once fitted to the spigot
• For general workshop and water use, the standard stainless perforated band clamp costs less and does the job
• On soft or expensive hose, a non-perforated band avoids embossing the cover
• Keep 316 clamps away from carbon steel fixings in wet conditions to avoid galvanic corrosion

Is 316 worth the extra over 304?

In salt or chemical exposure, yes, and obviously so. In a dry workshop it is money spent on corrosion resistance you will never use. The rule of thumb: if the joint sees salt, spray or chemicals, specify 316.

Why a box of 10?

Marine and processing work tends to consume clamps in quantity, and a box costs less per clamp than buying them singly.
