Brass Barbed Hose Joiner

A hose joiner is two barbs back to back. It repairs a hose that has been cut or split, and joins two shorter lengths into the one you actually need, without either end going near a thread.

Compatibility and fitting

• Size each barb on the inside diameter of the hose it enters
• Clamp both sides with a hose clamp, two per side under pressure
• Cut the damaged hose back to clean, undamaged material before joining
• A reducing joiner steps between two bores in one fitting

Will a joiner restrict flow?

A little, because the barb is slightly narrower than the hose bore. On a short run it is not noticeable; on a long suction line, prefer a full length hose.

How do I get stiff hose onto the barb?

Warm the hose end in hot water for a minute. Forcing cold hose onto a barb splits the end, and a split you cannot see is the one that lets go later.
