Bronze Gate Valve

A bronze gate valve for isolation duty on water, air and general service lines. The rising gate lifts a wedge clear of the bore as you wind it up, so a fully open gate valve leaves a straight path with almost nothing standing in it, and the stem position tells you where the gate is. Nine sizes, GVBR012 at 12 mm to GVBR100 at 100 mm, BSP threaded.

Gate valve or ball valve?

A gate valve winds open over several turns and gives a straight through bore, which suits a main that is set once and left alone. A ball valve goes from shut to open in a quarter turn, which suits anything operated regularly. Both isolate properly; only one of them is quick about it.

Bronze or brass gate valve?

The two ranges cover exactly the same 12 mm to 100 mm sizes on BSP threads. Bronze is the casting usually specified for water and marine service; brass is the general workshop, commercial and plumbing option.
