Camlock Dust Cap Aluminium TYPE DC

A dust cap closes off a male adapter. It clips over the adapter using the same cam arms as a coupler, keeping grit, water and insects out of a line standing idle and stopping the last of the contents dripping out between jobs. The aluminium cap is the one that lives in the toolbox of every transfer operation, light and cheap enough to hang on a lanyard and forget about.

Compatibility and fitting

• It fits any Type A, E or F male adapter of the same size.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Aluminium is soft: do not lever a stuck coupling with a bar, or the arms bend and the joint never seals again
• Avoid pairing aluminium with stainless on a wet line, where galvanic corrosion will eat the aluminium
• Check the compatibility chart for both the aluminium body and the NBR gasket before use
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

Is a dust cap pressure rated?

No. It keeps dirt out and drips in; it is not a blanking cap for a pressurised line. If the line will be pressurised with nothing connected, fit a proper blank.

Will aluminium handle my chemical?

Check the compatibility chart before committing. Aluminium covers water, oil, powders and many hydrocarbons, but some chemicals attack it. Where the chart is marginal, move to 316 stainless or polypropylene.
