FBSP x Male Stainless Steel Camlock - TYPE A

A Type A camlock is a male adapter on one end and a female BSP thread on the other, so it converts a threaded male outlet into a cam and groove connection. In 316 stainless it goes on food, dairy and chemical plant, where the outlet is washed down daily and a corroded adapter would contaminate the line.

Compatibility and fitting

• It couples to a Type B, C or D female coupler, and is capped by a dust cap when not in use.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• 316 tolerates the caustic and acid cleaners used in food and beverage plants
• Keep stainless couplings away from aluminium ones on the same wet line to avoid galvanic attack
• Stainless is heavy at large bores, so support the hose rather than letting the coupling carry it
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

What is the difference between Type A and Type F?

Both are male adapters. Type A has a female thread, so it screws onto a male outlet. Type F has a male thread, so it screws into a female port. Work out which thread your equipment presents and pick the opposite.

Is 316 stainless worth it over aluminium?

In food areas, salt air or chemical service, yes, and it is usually a specification rather than a choice. In dry general industrial use aluminium does the same job for less, so match the grade to the environment.
