FBSP x Female Aluminium Camlock TYPE D

A Type D camlock is a female coupler with a female BSP thread, so it screws onto a male threaded outlet and presents the lever end of the connection. In aluminium it is the general industrial workhorse, screwed onto pump and tank outlets wherever a threaded point needs to become a quick release one.

Compatibility and fitting

• It accepts a Type A, E or F male adapter, and is closed with a dust plug.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Aluminium is soft: do not lever a stuck coupling with a bar, or the arms bend and the joint never seals again
• Avoid pairing aluminium with stainless on a wet line, where galvanic corrosion will eat the aluminium
• Check the compatibility chart for both the aluminium body and the NBR gasket before use
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

Type B or Type D on my tank?

It depends only on the thread the tank presents. A male thread on the tank takes a Type D, which has a female thread. A female port takes a Type B. Check the thread before ordering, not after.

Will aluminium handle my chemical?

Check the compatibility chart before committing. Aluminium covers water, oil, powders and many hydrocarbons, but some chemicals attack it. Where the chart is marginal, move to 316 stainless or polypropylene.
