FBSP x Female Poly Camlock

A Type D camlock is a female coupler with a female BSP thread, so it screws onto a male threaded outlet and presents the lever end of the connection. In polypropylene it is the fitting for poly tanks, water carts and effluent lines, where a metal coupler on a plastic thread is asking for a cracked boss.

Compatibility and fitting

• It accepts a Type A, E or F male adapter, and is closed with a dust plug.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Polypropylene will not corrode, but it will not take being dropped or driven over the way metal does
• Keep it out of direct sun for long periods, and off lines running near the gasket's 100°C limit
• Do not over lever the arms: poly flexes where metal would hold
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

Type B or Type D on my tank?

It depends only on the thread the tank presents. A male thread on the tank takes a Type D, which has a female thread. A female port takes a Type B. Check the thread before ordering, not after.

How does poly compare on strength?

It is lighter and completely corrosion proof, but it will not take the abuse or the temperature that metal will. Use it for water, waste and rural work; use metal where the coupling gets dropped, dragged or run hot.
