FBSP x Male Poly Camlock

A Type A camlock is a male adapter on one end and a female BSP thread on the other, so it converts a threaded male outlet into a cam and groove connection. In polypropylene it suits rural and waste work, on poly tanks and irrigation manifolds where the fitting will never see a spanner but will sit in the weather for years.

Compatibility and fitting

• It couples to a Type B, C or D female coupler, and is capped by a dust cap when not in use.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Polypropylene will not corrode, but it will not take being dropped or driven over the way metal does
• Keep it out of direct sun for long periods, and off lines running near the gasket's 100°C limit
• Do not over lever the arms: poly flexes where metal would hold
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

What is the difference between Type A and Type F?

Both are male adapters. Type A has a female thread, so it screws onto a male outlet. Type F has a male thread, so it screws into a female port. Work out which thread your equipment presents and pick the opposite.

How does poly compare on strength?

It is lighter and completely corrosion proof, but it will not take the abuse or the temperature that metal will. Use it for water, waste and rural work; use metal where the coupling gets dropped, dragged or run hot.
