Description
A hose clamp nut driver gets to the clamps a screwdriver cannot. The flexible shaft bends around obstructions, so a clamp buried behind a manifold or down beside an engine can be tightened properly instead of by feel with the wrong tool. Part CND1.
Key features
- Part number CND1
- Part number CND1
- Suits the 5/16 inch and 1/4 inch hex heads used on worm drive clamps
- Flexible shaft reaches clamp screws in confined spaces
- Drives the hex head on standard worm drive clamps, so the screw is turned rather than levered
- Lets you apply proper torque where a screwdriver would cam out
- Fits both installation and removal
Applications
- Engine bay coolant and heater hose clamps
- Marine engine installations with restricted access
- Plant and machinery servicing
- Any clamp fitted behind a bracket, panel or manifold
Compatibility and fitting
- Suits the hex screw head on standard worm drive clamps from the clamp range
- Drive the hex rather than the slot; the slot is what strips
- For crimp style clamps you need OTK pincer pliers instead
Why not just use a screwdriver?
Because a screwdriver in a slotted head cams out under load, which rounds the slot and leaves the clamp under tightened. Driving the hex head is the correct way to bring a worm drive clamp up to torque.
