Hose x Female Aluminium Camlock TYPE C

A Type C camlock is a female coupler on a hose shank, which makes it the lever end fitted directly to a hose. Push it on, clamp it, and the hose couples to any matching male adapter in seconds. Aluminium keeps the weight down on the end of a long suction hose, which matters when an operator is dragging 20 metres of charged hose across a yard.

Compatibility and fitting

• It couples to a Type A, E or F male adapter, and takes a dust plug to keep the gasket clean.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Aluminium is soft: do not lever a stuck coupling with a bar, or the arms bend and the joint never seals again
• Avoid pairing aluminium with stainless on a wet line, where galvanic corrosion will eat the aluminium
• Check the compatibility chart for both the aluminium body and the NBR gasket before use
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

How is the hose shank secured?

With clamps, and on anything carrying pressure use two. A single clamp on a large bore suction hose is the usual reason a coupling blows off under load.

Will aluminium handle my chemical?

Check the compatibility chart before committing. Aluminium covers water, oil, powders and many hydrocarbons, but some chemicals attack it. Where the chart is marginal, move to 316 stainless or polypropylene.
