MBSP x Male Poly Camlock

A Type F camlock is a male adapter with a male BSP thread, so it screws into a female port and presents the male cam end for a hose to drop onto. In polypropylene it suits irrigation, water carts and waste lines, where the port is plastic and a metal fitting would over stress the thread.

Compatibility and fitting

• It couples to a Type B, C or D female coupler, and takes a dust cap when idle.
• Sizes must match: a 50 mm coupler only takes a 50 mm adapter
• Polypropylene will not corrode, but it will not take being dropped or driven over the way metal does
• Keep it out of direct sun for long periods, and off lines running near the gasket's 100°C limit
• Do not over lever the arms: poly flexes where metal would hold
• Matching hose is in the rubber hose and PVC hose ranges

Which way round do the threads go?

A Type F has a male thread and screws into a female port. If your equipment has a male thread sticking out, you want a Type A instead. Getting this wrong is the most common camlock ordering error.

How does poly compare on strength?

It is lighter and completely corrosion proof, but it will not take the abuse or the temperature that metal will. Use it for water, waste and rural work; use metal where the coupling gets dropped, dragged or run hot.
