Nitto Air Coupling Female x FBSP

A Nitto style female socket with a female BSP threaded port, so it screws onto a male thread on pipework, a valve or a manifold. Sizes run 20SF at 1/4", 30SF at 3/8" and 40SF at 1/2". It is the socket to use where an air distribution line terminates in a male nipple and you want a quick connect point there without building up adaptors.

Compatibility and fitting

• Takes a male BSP thread into its port; seal on the thread with tape or sealant suited to air
• Accepts any same-series male plug, hose tail or threaded, from the Nitto range
• Where the pipework is female instead, use the female x MBSP socket
• Nipples and reducing bushes are in brass fittings

What size coupling suits a 1/2 inch air line?

Match the coupling to the line: a 1/2" line takes the 40 series, and dropping to 1/4" at the outlet throttles everything downstream of it. The coupling is often the tightest point in a workshop air system.

Can this socket go on the end of a hose?

Only with a male nipple to thread into it, which adds a joint. If the socket is going onto hose, the hose tail version is the neater and stronger option.
