Nitto Air Coupling Male x MBSP

A Nitto style male plug with a male BSP thread on the back, for screwing directly into a female threaded port on a tool, valve or manifold. These are the PM codes, in the 20, 30 and 40 series, which are 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" respectively. Because the plug is on the equipment, the tool can be lifted off the line and the hose socket left holding the air.

Male x MBSP: which male is which?

The first word describes the coupling half, so this is a male plug. The second describes the thread, so it is a male BSP thread. It goes into a female socket at one end and a female threaded port at the other, and getting these two the wrong way round is the usual ordering mistake.

Does the thread size have to match the coupling size?

On these it does: the 1/4" plug carries a 1/4" thread and the 1/2" plug a 1/2" thread. If the port is a different size, fit a brass bush rather than changing coupling series.
