Nylon BSP Male/Female Elbow

Male one side, female the other, turning a threaded run through 90 degrees. Because the thread genders differ, it drops into an existing run without needing an extra nipple, which is why it is the elbow most often reached for.

• Inserts into a run without an additional nipple
• Glass fibre reinforced nylon, also available in 100% polypropylene on request
• Certified to AS/NZS 4020, so it is approved for potable water
• Precision heavy duty tapered BSP threads
• 1600 kPa at 20°C for 6 mm to 50 mm, 1200 kPa at 65 mm, 1000 kPa from 80 mm to 100 mm
• Will not corrode, unlike brass or steel, in fertiliser, bore water and coastal air

Compatibility and fitting

• The male leg screws into a female port; the female leg accepts a male fitting
• Where both parts are male, use the female to female elbow
• Seal threads with a thread sealing paste or thread tape
• Nylon threads strip more easily than brass: tighten by hand and finish with a light nip, never a long lever
• Check the pressure band for the size you are buying, as it steps down above 50 mm

Which elbow do I need?

Count the male threads you have to connect. Two male threads need the female to female elbow. One of each needs this one.

Can I aim it where I want?

Tighten to seal and stop where it points correctly. Backing a tapered thread off to aim it undoes the seal.
