Nylon Nut & Hose Tail x FBSP

A nut and tail lets the hose stay still while the nut turns. Because the female thread swivels on the tail, you can tighten onto a male outlet without winding the hose up behind it, which is the problem with a fixed female fitting on an already installed line.

Compatibility and fitting

• The female nut goes onto a male thread; use a plain hose tail for a female port
• Clamp the hose onto the barb with a hose clamp
• Seal threads with a thread sealing paste or thread tape
• Nylon threads strip more easily than brass: tighten by hand and finish with a light nip, never a long lever
• Check the pressure band for the size you are buying, as it steps down above 50 mm

Why a swivel rather than a fixed fitting?

Because on an installed hose you cannot rotate the hose to tighten a fixed female fitting. The swivel nut turns on its own, which is the whole point.

Does it need a washer?

A parallel thread seals on a washer or O-ring; a tapered one seals on the thread with tape or paste. Check which you have before assuming.
