Plastic Skin Fitting With Hose Tail

Read this first: the supplier rates these white moulded plastic through-hull fittings as suitable for most above waterline outlets. They are the sink, shower and bilge discharge fitting, not a below-waterline penetration. Each one is a barbed hose tail moulded into a flanged through-hull, stocked in six sizes from 12 mm to 40 mm as parts SFN12, SFN16, SFN20, SFN25, SFN32 and SFN40.

• Smaller published sizes: 16 mm (5/8") in a 24 mm hole at 75 mm long, and 19 mm (3/4") in a 27 mm hole at 83 mm long

Compatibility and fitting

• Drill the hull to the published mounting hole size, not to the hose size
• Push hose fully onto the barb and clamp it with a stainless band from the Tridon range
• For a penetration below the waterline use a metal fitting from skin fittings and marine products
• Bilge and drain hose to suit is in marine and RV drain hose

Can a plastic skin fitting go below the waterline?

The supplier's own note is that these suit most above waterline outlets, so treat anything at or below the waterline as a job for a bronze or stainless fitting instead.
