PVC Ball Valve

A PVC bodied ball valve rated to 800 kPa maximum working pressure, for water supply, irrigation and light industrial lines. It weighs a fraction of a brass valve of the same size and it will not corrode on a fertiliser, dosing or wash down line, which is why so many of them end up on irrigation manifolds. Eight sizes, BVPVC012 at 12 mm through BVPVC080 at 80 mm.

Compatibility and fitting

• Threaded ends; check the thread against the fitting before ordering
• Poly and nylon adaptors are in poly and nylon fittings
• Confirm the media against the valve: the rating covers water, air and compatible chemicals
• Above 800 kPa, move to a metal body from ball valves

How much pressure will a PVC ball valve take?

800 kPa maximum working pressure. That covers most irrigation and tank work, but it is well under the 2500 kPa the chrome plated brass valves carry, so on a pump discharge or a compressed air main check the number before you fit one.

PVC or glass fibre reinforced?

Both avoid metal. PVC is the one with a published figure, 800 kPa, and it covers 12 mm right through to 80 mm. The glass fibre reinforced body is the stronger moulding but its rating is quoted per size, and it stops at 50 mm.
