Standard Compression Union

A compression union joins two lengths of tube end to end without threading either of them. It is the fitting you reach for when extending a run, repairing a damaged section, or joining two systems that were never designed to meet.

Compatibility and fitting

• Both ends take a nut and olive sized to the tube
• Cut the tube square and deburr it, or the olive will not seal evenly
• Push each tube fully home before tightening; a tube short of the shoulder is the usual leak
• Fit a spiggot in nylon tube and on high pressure joints

Union or coupling?

In compression terms this is the straight through joiner. It seals on the tube itself, so neither tube needs a thread cut on it, which is why it suits field repairs.

Can it join two different tube sizes?

Not this fitting. Use a reducing union or a reducing bush with the correct olive at each size.
