12mm Clear Vinyl Tube

12mm clear vinyl tube (part CVT12) is a non-reinforced, low-pressure PVC tube with a 12.5 mm (1/2") bore for air, water and general fluid transfer. Made from clear virgin PVC with a slight blue tint, it conforms to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in contact with food and is EU RoHS compliant, so it can be used on low-pressure food and beverage lines as well as drain, siphon and overflow lines. It is sold by the metre from 5 m to a 50 m spool and stocked in our Brisbane warehouse. Full specifications are listed below.

Compatibility and fitting

The tube pushes over 12 mm (1/2") barbed hose tails and can be secured with a small worm-drive clamp from our hose clamps range (a 13-25 mm clamp suits the 15.5 mm outside diameter). Use barbed poly fittings or brass fittings; the soft wall is not designed for push-fit connectors. If the line will see pressure above 4 bar, or needs to hold its shape under suction, step up to our reinforced clear braided PVC hose in the same bore.

Frequently asked questions

Is 12mm clear tube the same as 1/2 inch? Yes. The nominal 12.5 mm bore is the metric equivalent of 1/2" and fits standard 1/2" hose tails.

Is clear vinyl tube food safe? This tube conforms to AS/NZS 2070 for plastics in food contact, so it suits low-pressure drink and food lines within its -5°C to +60°C rating.
