About Clear Multi Purpose Hose
Clear hose earns its place by being transparent: you can see a blockage, an air lock, a colour change or a line that has not primed, without pulling anything apart. This clear multi purpose hose is braided PVC, with a polyester reinforcement in the wall that lets it hold working pressure while keeping the bore visible. Hose Suppliers Australia cuts it to length in 10 sizes from 6 mm (1/4") to 50 mm (2") at our Brisbane warehouse.
Sizes of clear braided hose we stock
- 6 mm to 12 mm (1/4" to 1/2"): dispensing lines, small pumps, laboratory and test rigs, and sight lines on tanks.
- 16 mm to 25 mm (5/8" to 1"): the general workshop and transfer band, and the common size on garden and utility pumps.
- 32 mm to 50 mm (1 1/4" to 2"): larger transfer and machinery drains where flow matters more than flexibility.
Smaller sizes come in one, three, five, 10 and 15 metre lengths and a 20 metre coil; 32 mm and above in one, three, five, 10, 12 and 15 metre lengths.
Choosing the right clear hose
- Size: measure the tail or spigot outside diameter and order that as the hose inside diameter.
- Reinforcement: choose braided hose for pressure. For gravity drains and low-pressure runs, unreinforced clear vinyl tube is lighter and cheaper.
- Suction: braid does not resist vacuum. Pump suction needs a helix-reinforced hose such as our grey PVC water suction hose.
- Fluid: general water, air and mild chemicals. Food, beverage and fuel duties each need a hose specified for them.
- Clamping: a non-perforated band clamp from our hose clamps range grips the soft PVC wall without cutting it.
