20mm Rubber Water Suction Hose

The smallest bore in the rubber suction range, RWS020mm, has a steel wire helix wound through a synthetic cord carcass, so a 20 mm pump inlet keeps its shape when the pump pulls vacuum on it. That is the whole job: a plain 20 mm hose or a delivery line will suck shut and the pump will lose prime. Working pressure is 10 bar (145 psi) and the black smooth rubber cover takes a temperature range of -20 to +80°C. Cut from 1 m to 20 m.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fitted with 20 mm hose tails clamped over the helix; see hose clamps
• Quick-release couplings are under camlock fittings

Is 20 mm suction hose interchangeable with 20 mm delivery hose?

No, and this is the mistake that causes returns. Delivery hose has cord only and flattens under vacuum. Suction hose adds the steel wire helix that keeps the bore open on a pump inlet.

Can it also carry pressure?

Yes, it is rated 10 bar (145 psi), so it can run on either side of a pump. A delivery hose cannot do the reverse, because nothing in its wall resists vacuum.
