Rubber Water Suction Hose
About Rubber Water Suction Hose
Rubber suction hose is the hose between the water and the pump. Its reinforcement holds the bore open under vacuum, so the pump gets full flow instead of a flattened hose, and the rubber cover survives being dragged into a dam, creek or sump. Hose Suppliers Australia stocks nine sizes, 20 mm to 100 mm, in our Brisbane warehouse.
Sizes and lengths we stock
- 20 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm: small transfer and washdown pumps.
- 38 mm and 50 mm: fire fighting pumps, irrigation and general site pumps.
- 63 mm and 76 mm: water cartage loading and dewatering pumps.
- 90 mm and 100 mm: large trash and transfer pumps.
Each size is cut in 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 8 m, 10 m and 12 m lengths, so the suction run can be bought to the distance between the source and the pump.
Choosing the right suction hose
- Size: match the pump inlet, and keep the run as short and straight as the site allows.
- Material: rubber for abrasion, heat and rough ground; grey PVC suction hose where a lighter, cheaper hose will do.
- Delivery side: pair it with rubber water delivery hose on the pump outlet.
- Fittings: camlock fittings with heavy-duty hose clamps, because an air leak at a suction join stops the pump priming.
