Description
250 mm is heavy chip line territory: main collection trunks, cyclone connections and the large flexible spools between fixed sections of a system. At this bore the material load is constant and the wall does the work, which is the argument for black synthetic rubber rather than a plastic duct. The wire helix keeps a 250 mm bore round under suction. Rated -10°C to 125°C, for dust, chip, air intake and non combustible fume.
Key features
- 250 mm bore
- Wire helix reinforcement in a black synthetic rubber wall
- Corrugated external profile
- Temperature -10°C to 125°C
- Abrasion resistant to heavy chip, UV resistant
- DRFH250, in 1 m to 9 m cuts and a 10 m coil
Applications
- Heavy chip lines from four-siders and moulders
- Cyclone and collector inlet spools
- Main collection trunks
- Large fume extraction runs
- Bulk air movement on plant
Compatibility and fitting
- 250 mm is the inside diameter, over a 250 mm spigot
- Use a large worm drive band from the clamp range, seated between two crests
- Keep flexible spools short and let rigid duct carry the distance
- Smaller branch bores in the same construction start at 40 mm
How do I cut a 250 mm duct cleanly?
Cut the rubber between two turns of the helix with a sharp blade, then cut the wire with bolt cutters or heavy side cutters. Fold the wire end back inside the corrugation so it cannot catch on a hand or on the material passing through.
Does a flexible trunk cost airflow?
A corrugated wall has more resistance than a smooth rigid duct, so keep flexible sections to the length you actually need for movement or alignment and run rigid duct in between.
Every bore in the range is in black rubber air intake ducting.
