38mm Rubber Water Delivery Hose

RWD038mm is the 38 mm (1.5") delivery hose, the discharge partner to a 1.5 inch fire-fighting or transfer pump. It is a pressure hose: high strength synthetic cord under a black smooth synthetic rubber cover, rated 10 bar (145 psi) and -20 to +80°C. There is no helix, so it belongs downstream of the pump. The inlet needs a hose with a steel wire helix in the wall.

Which hose goes on which side of a 1.5 inch pump?

Suction hose on the inlet, because its steel wire helix resists vacuum. Delivery hose on the outlet, because it only has to hold pressure from inside. Fitting them the wrong way round collapses the inlet line.

Is 38 mm and 1.5 inch the same hose?

Yes. 38 mm is the metric bore for a 1.5 inch hose, and fittings are stocked under both names. Size the delivery line to the pump outlet rather than to a spare fitting.
