38mm Safety Yellow PVC Hose

PHS38 is the high volume delivery size, a 38 mm bore that suits a transfer pump or a tank outlet feeding a site. Outside diameter is 48 mm, which matters when you are sizing clamps or feeding the hose through a bund wall. The yellow ribbed cover keeps a large hose visible where it crosses a trafficked area, and the yarn reinforcement holds 1.6 MPa (230 psi) at 20°C to AS/NZS 2554 with a 4:1 safety factor.

Compatibility and fitting

• Fits a 38 mm camlock tail; see camlock fittings for quick connect ends
• Size the clamp band to the 48 mm outside diameter, not the bore
• Compare it with the 50 mm size on yellow PVC hose

Can it go on a pump inlet?

No. There is no helix in the wall, so it collapses under vacuum. Put a helix reinforced suction hose on the inlet and use this on the discharge, which is what the 230 psi rating is for.

How is it best stored?

Coiled flat and out of direct sun. The cover is UV stabilised, but a hose left kinked over an edge takes a permanent set at that point and will restrict flow there afterwards.
