4.8mm Clear Yellow Tygon Hose F-4040A

4.8 mm is the first of the two everyday small engine fuel line sizes, the bore mowers, generators and pumps are usually plumbed with. The rating steps down to 35 psi here as the bore grows, which is ample for a gravity or low pressure lift feed but not for a pressurised system. Tygon F-4040A handles fuels, lubricants and some chemicals across 0 to 74°C, and the clear yellow wall shows you the fuel level in the line.

Compatibility and fitting

• Push onto a 4.8 mm barb; a small spring clip or ear clamp holds it on a vibrating engine
• Do not run it on the pressure side of an electric fuel pump, which will exceed 35 psi

What is the difference between 4.8 mm and 6.4 mm?

Bore and pressure. The 4.8 mm size is rated 35 psi, the 6.4 mm size 30 psi. Choose on the barb you are fitting to, not on flow, because a small engine is not restricted by either bore.
