45mm Polyurethane Ducting Medium Grade

45 mm Polyurethane Ducting Medium Grade is clear polyurethane ducting with a copper coated steel helix. It is a small bore for concentrated abrasive pickup, where the material moving through it would abrade a PVC wall quickly.

• Nominal inside diameter 45 mm
• Abrasion resistant polyurethane wall, which outlasts PVC on any abrasive duty
• See-through, so you find a blockage by looking rather than by dismantling
• Copper coated steel helix for anti-static service once earthed
• Very light and flexible for the strength it carries
• Rated -5°C to +80°C, wider than a PVC duct

Compatibility and fitting

• Sized on inside diameter: 45 mm ducting fits a 45 mm spigot
• Secure onto spigots with a hose clamp sized to the outside diameter
• Earth the helix at both ends of every section, or the anti-static property does nothing
• Where there is no abrasive material in the airstream, PVC ducting is the cheaper specification

How long does polyurethane last against PVC?

Several times longer on abrasive duty, which is the whole reason for the price difference. On plain air, PVC lasts just as long and costs less.

Does it need earthing at this size?

Yes, if the material is a fine combustible dust. Bond the copper coated helix at both ends of every section; an unearthed run is not anti-static however the duct is described.
