51mm Marine Wet Exhaust Hose

51 mm is where the recreational inboard sizes begin, and RMWE051 is the hose most repowers in that bracket are plumbed with. Joints are the weak point on a run this size, because a wet exhaust joint has to hold against vibration, heat and salt water at once. The hose itself brings a steel wire helix under synthetic cord reinforcement, a corrugated cover that resists ozone and oil, and a tube specified against exhaust gas.

Compatibility and fitting

• Push the hose fully onto the spigot so both clamps land on the barb, not past it

Why does a wet exhaust joint need two clamps?

The joint carries hot gas, water and constant engine vibration, and it sits where a failure floods the boat rather than just making a mess. Two stainless bands per joint, offset from each other, is standard marine practice on exhaust runs.
